It was created by Matt Coburn, a friend of a friend (Stephen).
Matt’s site (BigMrC) is dead, but UrbanFonts.com has the font.

No, now I need a font named after US.
BMC also made a font called Cabeen Condensed. It’s equally crappy, but more narrowly so. Literally.

I just used this font today. No kidding. It worked perfectly for a project that I was doing. I’ve had it since Matt put it up online, lo those many years ago.
(So um, hi, remember me? It’s been a while, but when I followed the trail to find you here and saw this entry I about fell over and figured that it was a sign that I should say hello.)
