Nothing to say

Good news: I took the day off yesterday (Thursday) and took care of some things.

Bad news: The old macbook really is dead. (Bummer, but expected.) The noise that my Cabrio is making is coming from the transmission. (eek!) So now I’m afraid to drive it.

Good news: Kia drove me to work today, so I wouldn’t mess with my cabby any worse than I already have.

We’re in the small lot in front of my building, and Kia just pulled a paper towel out of the trunk. I’m barely paying attention until I realize she’s singing in the sweetest voice…

“Teddy bears on parade! Teddy bears on parade!”

She interrupts herself, still staring at the paper towel: “Oatmeal cookies?!? I never noticed - did you know these bears are making oatmeal cookies! Bastards are trying to kill me!”

(Recall, friends, that Kia is allergic to both oatmeal and sugar)

As she’s asking, she looks up. Seeing my stunned, amused face shocked her back out of her reverie, and plunged her into some well of embarrassment. It was the CUTEST thing, though!

So you already read what Barack Obama had to say about Pakistan, right?

Sure, but did you read it from the perspective of India??   Ok, maybe The Times of India doesn’t speak for India at large, but the angle on this article is funny.  Unless, of course, you consider the long, bloody history between India and Pakistan.

Then it’s not so funny haha.  No less interesting, though.
