I’m not a morning person, so let’s not put any emphasis on how tired I was or wasn’t feeling when I woke up. I was, for the most part, feeling pretty good. I certainly slept well. Even after that gum yesterday and all the teeth brushing, my teeth still felt like they’d been sprayed with an even coat of rustoleum. I brushed them twice. They are much better now, but still not 100%. I wonder what’s up with that.
Breakfast
Once again, my wife TOTALLY hooked me up. I came to work with the rest of yesterday’s lunch (sweet potato, chard, onion, coconut milk), a delicious smoothie (16 oz of banana, almond butter and yogurt), a pint of milk, and the last dregs of my bottle of Bolthouse Farms C-Boost. I like it because it’s tasty and contains a lot of zinc, which is a boon to the immune system.
The Day Falls Apart
What happened today was a combination of messes. People had chocolate and candy ALL around me (but I didn’t touch it). Also, we were crazy busy at work. today was the last day before a product release. We were supposed to have it ready and out by 5pm, but it didn’t happen. We stayed until 6:30, and it still didn’t happen. But by then, the weather had gone COMPLETELY to hell in a hand basket. I spent two nerve-wracking hours on the road. It was just awful.
Filling in the Gap
I ate no candy bars. I tore the HECK out of whatever remained of all the food I had mentioned above. I quite thoroughly enjoyed the Ginger Snap Larabar that I had picked up the night before. (The sweet potatoes didn’t get eaten until around 2, but I had such a variety of great breakfast snackings that it was fine.) Around 4, I was getting really cranky, so I washed off the apple I had taken in, filled up my water, and got out the almond butter. That snack took me over an hour to eat, with all the work drama, but the slow snacking kept my blood sugar in a happy place.
Safely Home
My wife made me a crazy delicious dinner of quinoa and veggies, straight from a Moosewood cookbook. It was excellent. Also, a couple glasses of water with apple cider vinegar. Alkalizing goodness!

Slow & steady wins the race. Or was it fast & cunning? I forget. ;)
Good jaerb. Just keep swimming…
